The Thomasians did it again. It was an estimated gathering of 24,000 students, faculty members and UST staff at the UST  Field to form the black and white Dominican Cross. It symbolizes the Catholic and Dominican identity of the University of Santo Tomas. the even was meant to highlight

penance in the season of Lent and as part of the 400 years celebration of the university. Fr. Winston Cabading, OP said that this is also UST’s attempt to rewrite the Guiness Book of World Records by forming a Dominican Cross.

We were jolted by the recent news.  They said that it is the biggest earthquake that hit Japan in 140 years. It is so horrible to see cars floating like paper toy boats amidst the strong tsunami that hit Japan a few hours ago. Let us all pray for the safety of everyone. We feel helpless watching the news of what happened there, but let us help them through prayers.

Warnings have also been released here in our country.  The Philippine coastlines are also on tsunami alert.

We pray for all the people of Japan, Lord

We pray for their safety

Be with them Lord in this traumatic time of their lives

May they experience Your healing

We ask this in the name of Jesus Our Lord.

Amen.
