Those four honor guards who accompanied Tita Cory’s remains deserve a big round of applause. They stood immobile for almost nine hours, from the time they boarded the funeral car at the Manila Cathedral to the time the funeral cortege reached Manila Memorial Park. They displayed exceptional discipline even probably ignoring the call of nature to fulfill their duties. And I heard they were personally handpicked. And the four of them said that they were so honored to be chosen to accompany Tita Cory to her last resting place.
My salute to Army PFC Antonio Cadiente, Airman Second Class Gener Laguindan, Navy Petty Officer 3 Edgardo Rodriguez and Police Officer I Danilo Maalab.
You all make us proud to be Pinoys!
